Different colors for text block background and hotspot

It would be great if we could have the hotspot/highlight color be different from the accompanying text box. For example, we would like to use a bright orange for our hotspot, but having to read white text on an orange background is pretty hard on the eyes. To clarify, what I am picturing is the text block could be a dark blue but the highlight is orange. Maybe it could be a linked toggle where the colors stay synched when on, but different when off.
